EHS Engineer
What this role is about?
As EHS Engineer, you will ensure that all the Company's Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety activities are aligned with the company's policies, standards and legal requirements. You will ensure a safe, healthy, and incident-free environment by driving EHS culture, training, Health and Safety programs, inspections, improvements associated with the EHS management systems ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 and data collection for reporting and achieving EHS targets & objectives.
What will you do?
- Create Annual & Strategic targets for Environmental Sustainability programs (Energy, Waste, Water). Lead and implement EHS projects (Safety action plans) that help the factory achieve its EHS goals. Supervise EHS activities in the factory, followed up on project implementations, verifying & validating engineering designs according to EHS standards and identifying environmental aspects. Assist all departments in the implementation of H&S compliance. Collaborate with other departments to assess and manage risks associated with specific projects or activities
- Ensure compliance with all Local EHS Regulations, and JTI policies and standards & Stay updated on changes in safety and environmental regulations. Ensure health and safety aspects at work, learn about potential hazards, and know and maintain required control measures to keep the workplace healthy and safe. Participate in all contractor's management activities including work permit and contractor evaluation
- Conduct EHS management system audits (audits of all sites to ensure compliance with ISO 45001 / 14001 requirements are met). Identify the Health, Safety, and Environmental legal requirements, track changes in regulations, and develop processes to fulfil compliance obligations. Gemba walks, reports on recommendations for improvement, and creates SMART CAPAs, Participate in detailed incident investigations, Root Cause Analysis, and corrective action determination with close follow-up for Corrective and preventive actions
- Responsible for the PPEs WH from ordering the required PPEs and uniforms, storage, delivering the required PPEs and uniforms to employees, and monitoring the consumption monthly. Manage pest control contractor with close follow-up for the weekly and monthly activities
- Contribute to achieving the factory KPIs, support continual improvement for EHS, Energy & Quality management systems, and ensure compliance with code of conduct, legal & other requirements
- Implement and monitor initiatives to enhance the overall safety and environmental management system
- Control the annual EHS spending as per the approved ASP budgets by monitoring all POs, invoices, and all GRs issued
What are we looking for?
- A bachelor degree in Science, Engineering or Agriculture
- Minimum 3 Years of experience in manufacturing industries, with 2 years of experience in ISO 45001, ISO14001 internal auditor & other EHS certifications (NEBOSH certification is an advantage)
- Advanced PC user (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project, and ERP systems).
- Very good knowledge in the field of Environment, occupational health & safety, and related legal requirements (Risk assessments, operating instructions, list of hazardous substances, storage, preventive actions, instructions, etc.)
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in English
