The Core AI & Data Platforms Team has been established to create, operate, and run the Enterprise AI, BI, Content, Data & Editorial Platforms as well as evolve and run the CoCounsel application and its shared capability of CoCounsel AI Assistant.
About the Role:
The Director of Customer Data Services will lead the strategic development and operational excellence of customer data integration and management solutions. This role is pivotal in creating a seamless and secure environment for integrating customer data with TR products, enhancing customer satisfaction, and ensuring robust data governance and security. The Director will be responsible for building and nurturing a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation and ownership, and ensuring the successful implementation of the proposed hybrid data architecture.
Responsibilities
Strategic Development and Integration:
- Lead the design and implementation of a hybrid data architecture inspired by data mesh principles, balancing centralized and decentralized data storage.
- Develop and oversee the integration of various Document Management Systems (DMS) with TR products, prioritizing integrations such as iManage, Sharepoint, and others.
- Ensure seamless data synchronization and management through modular systems with microservices and micro frontends.
Team Building and Development:
- Recruit, onboard, and develop a high-performing team dedicated to customer data services.
- Foster a culture of innovation and ownership, encouraging team members to address long-term implications and customer needs.
Operational Excellence:
- Implement effective processes and workflows to streamline operations and improve service delivery.
- Ensure operational excellence with alerting, monitoring, and seamless customer data integrations.
Security, Privacy, and Governance:
- Ensure robust security measures, including encryption standards and separation of customer and operational data.
- Develop privacy and retention policies that align with industry standards and customer preferences.
- Maintain a central metadata store for auditing, lifecycle management, and minimizing document duplication.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with leadership, architects, product owners, and business users to align perspectives and priorities for successful platform improvements.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates and outcomes.
About You:
- Proven experience in leading customer data integration services and developing data management solutions via build, buy & partner strategies.
- Expertise in data architecture, including centralized and decentralized storage solutions.
- Strong skills in recruiting, developing, and motivating high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex data services and foster a culture of innovation and ownership.
- Experience in implementing operational processes and workflows for service improvement.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align diverse perspectives.
- Expertise in data governance, security, and privacy practices.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a focus on end-user experience.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective updates and outcomes communication.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The location(s) for this role include one or more of the following states: CA, CO, CT, IL, NV, TX, WA and/or remote. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $157,500 - $292,500. The base compensation range in other locations may vary. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity.
