Sport Sustainability Coordinator (Geneva - Switzerland)
As a Sport Sustainability Coordinator, you will actively contribute to the FIA’s vision of a more sustainable motorsport. You will coordinate and support the development of environmental initiatives, provide expertise across key sustainability programs, and play a key role in the success of the FIA’s sport sustainability strategy.
You will report to the Sport Sustainability Manager.
MISSIONS AND RESPONSABILITIES:
FIA Environmental accreditation programme management:
- Ensure smooth coordination of the programme, including timely support, consistent follow-ups with stakeholders, and continuous development and improvement.
- Regularly reviews and refines accreditation requirements while leading the development of an online platform to streamline processes.
- Ensures accurate invoicing for all relevant transactions, monitors payments, and proactively follows up to guarantee timely settlements.
- Collaborate closely with the auditing body to ensure quality and consistency of the audit process
Championship sustainability monitoring:
- Assists in evaluating sustainability performance across FIA championships
- Supports the development and implementation of effective action plans
Tender evaluation and R&D initiatives:
- Assess tender applications for single supplies (tyres, batteries, chassis, etc.) through qualitative and quantitative analysis, comparing bids to provide comprehensive recommendations
- Support the development of R&D initiatives in collaboration with the FIA Technical Department
Championship environmental observers programme:
- Implements and manages the Environmental Observers Programme across FIA championships
Internal sustainability support:
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives within the broader FIA strategy, with a focus on nature and pollution-related projects
- Support the implementation of communication plans on environmental sustainability to increase internal and external visibility
External representation
- Represent the FIA at internal and external events, including meetings, working groups, congresses, and conferences
PROFILE:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, Environmental Management, or a related field
- Minimum of two years of professional experience in sustainability-related roles after graduation
- Experience within motorsport or a sports organisation is a strong asset
- Fluent in English, written and spoken
- Proficiency in another language, particularly French, is a plus
- Strong understanding of key sustainability concepts and metrics, including resource
- efficiency, waste reduction, nature conservation and pollution prevention
- Familiarity with environmental audits, environmental management systems, compliance monitoring and reporting processes
- Knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and data modelling processes is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
- Excellent adaptability and problem-solving skills
- Effective communicator with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Strong collaborative mindset, prioritizing team synergy and shared success over individual recognition
