We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Product Manager to join our Detection & Signaling team and drive the segment's vision and strategy forward. In this role, you will manage an existing product portfolio while collaborating with engineering, developers, product managers, and customers to identify and define requirements for innovative products that fuel future growth. The Product Line Detection & Signaling delivers cutting-edge detectors, signaling, and supplementary products that enhance fire safety worldwide - safeguarding lives, health, and assets. Our solutions emphasize sustainability and purposeful technology to create a safer future.
As the Product Manager for Special Detection Fire Safety, you will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle, from product definition and development to support and end-of-life planning for Special Detection products. Location: this role will be based in Zug/Switzerland. Please note that qualified candidates need to be legally eligible for work authorization in Switzerland.
Your new responsibilities:
- Manage the full product lifecycle of our special fire detectors, including pricing strategy, profitability, demand planning, and roadmap development - all in alignment with European norms and regulations
- Drive continuous product improvements by analyzing key performance metrics and implementing strategies to strengthen our market position
- Lead product launches and discontinuations in close collaboration with regional sales teams
- Conduct market, competitor, and technology trend analysis, translating insights into strategic proposals
- Define, prioritize, and validate product enhancements in partnership with engineering, external partners and customers
- Monitor key business metrics taking proactive measures to address deviations and optimize portfolio performance
- Coordinate initiative with external partners and manufacturers, working closely with purchasing
- Act as the go-to expert on competition, customer needs, and market trends, continuously refining product strategy and identifying new opportunities for growth
Your skills and experience:
- University degree or higher education in engineering, business engineering or equivalent qualification
- Ideally 3-5 years of product management experience, preferably within a B2B environment, or technical project manager with a solid track record
- Experience within the Fire Safety industry or related building management systems / services is an advantage
- Solid understanding of business economics and financials principles, combined with a strategic, long-term attitude
- Experience in lean/agile development (e.g. SAFe) is a plus
- Resilient in challenging situations, with a structured and analytical approach to problem-solving
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, team-player and able to build trust with internal and external partners
- Business fluent in English. German or any other European language skills are an advantage
