The World Economic Forum is an international organization that brings together leaders from business, government, academia, and civil society to build industry, regional and global agendas, address systemic issues, and improve the state of the world.
The Global Industries Team is responsible for building and managing the Forum’s 20+ global Industry Communities and for the strategic engagement of Forum Partners from North America and Europe across Industry Communities, the 10 Forum Centres and Forum events.
We are seeking a Strategy and Transformation Lead who will support the development of a comprehensive approach to grow and manage our Industries and CXO Communities, the design and implementation of the Global Industries Team’s overall strategy, and the coordination of our team activities.
Reporting lines and interactions
The Strategy and Transformation Lead will report directly to the Head, Global Industries Team and work closely with Industry Heads and Managers, Partner Leads (account managers), and other teams across the Forum.
Main responsibilities
- Designing, piloting, and rolling out consistent approaches and methodologies to grow, manage, and animate global Industry Communities (e.g., CEO Governors Communities; Strategy Officers Communities) and CXO Communities (e.g., Chief Supply Chain and Operating Officers; Chief Human Resources Officers; Chief Economists).
- Coordinating the further development and successful deployment of the Global Industries Team’s overall vision, strategy, and goals by working closely with the Head of the Global Industries Team
- Managing strategic internal transformation projects and strategy by mobilizing colleagues from across different teams and facilitating alignment and decision making, to strengthen the value proposition of our global Industry and CXO Communities and to increase Partner retention, acquisition, and engagement.
- Driving priorities forward through comprehensive planning and communication, with strong change management skills
- Orchestrating the participation in and contribution of the Global Industries Team to key Forum events, including Annual Meeting 2026.
- Developing documentation, guidelines, marketing, and communication materials for the global Industry Communities; Drafting memos and other key supporting documents to present new ideas and concepts to our Managing Board, including industry-specific reports.
- Capturing learnings and driving continuous feedback and improvement for both internal and external stakeholders to identify areas for future focus and strengthen our team’s impact, including collaboration with global communications team to increase external visibility of such impact.
- Facilitating collaboration and coordination between different Industry Communities, and between the Global Industries Team and other Team across the Forum.
- Planning and executing team meeting and other key meetings.
To be successful, the Transformation and Strategy lead should
- Develop a comprehensive and consistent approach to successfully manage and strengthen our Industry and CXO Communities.
- Formulate clear workplans and guidelines for the further development and successful implementation of the team’s vision, strategy, and goals.
- Collaborate efficiently and transparently with all members of the Global Industries Teams and with other teams at the Forum, as a strong team player and in an agile matrix organization
- Ensure results and milestones are documented and reported consistently on a regular basis, internally or externally as needed.
- Remain focused on the big picture and be results-oriented, understanding and anticipating Partner and Industry and CXO Communities' needs, and how they intersect with the Forum’s strategic priorities.
Requirements and preferred experience
- Bachelor’s or advanced university degree and 7+ years of relevant professional experience, ideally in multi-cultural environments
- Proven experience in community and Partner (account/client) engagement and operations, with a focus on results
- Excellent change management and project management skills
- Capacity to synthesize various viewpoints, consult broadly and work collaboratively
- Proactive and self-driven, with the ability to work independently, managing both long- and short-term objectives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Agile, with a positive and constructive attitude towards getting things done, connecting the dots, and delivering results while embracing change
- Excellent organizational, project, and time management skills, combined with strong work ethic and high attention to detail
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with fluency in written and spoken English
