MISSION
As a Sustaining Group Leader, you will report to the Head of Technology and Innovation, leading activities within the Technology and Innovation department to maintain the performance and quality of EMS's post-market released products.
You will manage a team of sustaining engineers and coordinate initiatives to drive continuous improvement, implement design changes, and maintain compliance with our high standards of quality and regulatory requirements.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Resource Management
- Lead and coordinate the Sustaining Engineering group to align with EMS business objectives.
- Manage headcount planning, hiring, budgeting, and investment related to sustaining activities.
- Oversee performance management and evaluations of team members.
Sustaining Engineering & Product Improvements
- Coordinate projects for component, sub-assembly, and product improvements across the portfolio.
- Act as the key interface for product lifecycle management, working closely with Supply Chain, After-Sales, Marketing, and Quality teams.
- Drive the collection and analysis of feedback from internal stakeholders and implement action plans.
Process Compliance & ERP Maintenance
- Ensure compliance with EMS procedures and medical device regulations during change implementations (ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820).
- Maintain the ERP system related to Bill of Materials (BOM) and Sales Configurations.
Continuous Improvement
- Initiate and lead continuous improvement activities within sustaining processes.
- Promote best practices for design for manufacturing and electromechanical design.
EDUCATION & PERSONAL SKILLS
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in sustaining engineering, product lifecycle management, or related fields.
- Master's degree (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- Solid expertise in electromechanical design, design for manufacturing, project management, and medical device regulations.
- Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems (e.g., F&O ERP system).
- Strong organizational skills, ability to work on multiple topics in parallel.
- Excellent oral and written presentation skills.
- Strong client orientation and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in French and English.
