This role involves collaborating with internal and external customers, incl. sales organizations, insurances, and lawyers. It offers a unique opportunity to positively influence SWC quality service perception. The position requires independent work, flexible hours, and the option to work from home.
- Handling and managing cargo&mail claims per international conventions, terms & conditions of carriage and company guidelines
- Definition and publication of directives regulating the claims handling process within SWC
- Responsible for handling and settling Customer, Interline, and subrogation claims
- Official main contact within SWC for Insurance&Legal services
- Investigate claims, gather documentation, and assess legal aspects
- Negotiate settlements with customers, insurers, legal representatives and justify decisions
- Settles preliminary accounting with transport insurers
- Oversee claims KPIs and drive preventive measures through data analysis
- Maintain the Cargo Claims Handling Manual & develop claim systems
- Conduct internal claims training and represent SWC in industry committees & conferences

- Extensive experience in cargo, logistics, or a related field (10+ years).
- Proven track record in claims handling (5+ years).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with global stakeholders
- Background in law, insurance, or similar fields is an advantage
- Fluent in English; conversational German required (French or other languages are a plus)
- Ability to simplify and communicate challenging topics with clarity
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage difficult and challenging situations
- Basic project management skills
