As our NGO aims to elevate its brand and visibility, the Public Relations and Social Media team plays a crucial role in positioning the organization across digital communication spaces. Utilizing both organic and paid content strategies, the team works to generate positive and impactful coverage across targeted media markets, partner networks, and major social platforms.
Description
The Social Media Consultant will be responsible for executing the social media component of the Communications Strategy. This includes content creation, scheduling, and publishing on platforms like X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Threads, as well as engaging with audiences, moderating interactions, building relationships, and monitoring the evolving online presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the social media aspects of the Communications Strategy.
- Author, schedule, and publish daily content that aligns with the organization's tone and strategic messaging.
- Collaborate with the Creative Studio to develop engaging and innovative content that maximizes reach and impact.
- Moderate and manage online interactions to boost engagement, mitigate reputational risk, and identify opportunities for growth.
- Coordinate with communication teams and other departments on messaging, influencer strategies, and campaign activations.

- Social media reach, impressions, and engagement levels.
- Feedback from communication team members and external collaborators.
- Input from internal and external stakeholders.
Profile
Qualifications
Essential:
- University degree in Communications, Marketing, New Media, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Proven experience in social media or digital communications.
- Strong skills in content writing, scheduling, publishing, audience engagement, and monitoring.
- Familiarity with digital campaigns, influencer activations, and content amplification (both paid and organic).
- Knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and Google Analytics.
- Proficiency with advanced social media tools like Hootsuite Enterprise.
Desirable:
- 2-4 years of experience in social media or digital communications.
- Skills in design and video editing are a plus.
- Experience in global, international, or multilateral organizations.
- Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment and work with diverse stakeholders.
- Understanding of global health, international relations, and development, ideally with experience in the NGO sector.
Language Requirements
- Excellent command of English and working knowledge of French. Additional languages are an asset.
