Program Manager MEMS Sensor Development, 80-100%

For its Business Unit Advanced Products within the Semiconductor Solutions Group, VAT is looking for an experienced Incubator Program Manager with profound knowledge in Project and Product Management of sensors, their development and industrialization and/or vacuum dynamics for Semiconductor chip manufacturing, as well as visionary views on the upcoming challenges of semiconductor applications. The role is a strategic program management position responsible for business development to transform the upcoming market requirements into technology and product roadmaps with underlying solid business cases. As long as the program is in the incubation phase, the candidate will take over the role as Product Manager as well. The candidate has a proven record of solving leading edge technical challenges in the sensor industry and brings strong business acumen, demonstrate strategic thinking and know how to further build our customer trust and loyalty.

He/she is able to provide fact-driven proposals to solve complex problems and is passionate about working with and further develop and organize a matrixed team of experienced engineers and scientists.

YOUR CHALLENGES

• Owning the program management of our MEMS-based sensor incubator program
• Acting as the driver of an incubator for new products in semiconductor applications particularly related to process control and vacuum dynamics
• Product management and product offering for selected advanced products during the incubation phase
• Engaging with customers and guiding them in finding better solutions for their high value challenges
• Transforming customer needs to actionable product specifications
• Initiating and owning the required innovation projects within the multi-functional matrix team
• Developing product roadmaps and marketing strategy together with technology and application teams
• Working within a team based in several locations (Haag, Zürich, Mendrisio). Your workplace will be mainly Zürich.

YOUR COMPETENCIES

• Master’s or PhD degree in sciences or engineering preferably in MEMS, electronics or physics
• Profound (5+ years) knowhow in product and project management for MEMS-based sensors, e.g. for the semiconductor equipment market
• Pro-active collaboration within the matrix organization
• Strong entrepreneurial spirit, high level of engagement, the ability for strategic and solution-oriented thinking and acting, as well as proactive and responsible teamwork complete your personal profile
• Negotiating skills in English (fluent in spoken and written), German is an advantage
• Willingness to grow your responsibilities and showing your potential to take over ownership
