Role Overview & Primary Accountabilities:
The Innovation and CI Process Specialist within the R&D organization of International Family Care & Professional (IFP) will provide technical leadership in area of Process development & Materials development for Tissue products to support the delivery of 1-3yr innovation pipeline and cost & margin transformation ambitions to ultimately enable delivery of the business objectives and plans for the Asia + Australia regions. This role involves identifying new technology opportunities, and leading the Process/material development work to evaluate these, and bring to commercial reality, partnering with the Multifunctional team. It will also involve leveraging your expertise to provide technical leadership for the implementation and start-up of new assets, processes and materials and providing R&D support for trouble-shooting activity within our mills. The ideal candidate is a technical expert with strong leadership skills and a passion for leveraging technology to solve consumer, sustainability & business challenges.
Innovation & Technology Roadmap Development:

Creates a vision for their technology programs to influence & support the development of technology roadmaps, consulting with other R&D leaders and IFP Growth & Supply chain leaders in service of delivery of overall IFP Growth strategy & Innovation pipeline.

Contributes ideas and programs to populate technology roadmaps linking technology developments to potential innovation programs that give our products a competitive advantage from consumer benefit/cost/sustainability point of view and seeks to influence innovation and product development

Drives a culture of protected and documented innovation to protect and defend KC’s proprietary technologies, products and business processes through appropriate use of patents and trade secrets.
Technology Program ownership:
-
Leads technology projects & programs to deliver the 0–3-year technology roadmap which will include Innovation, renovation, cost/margin and sustainability activities and will involve working multiple programs in parallel across the different stages of Technology development.

Acts as a Technical subject matter expert in at least one field of technology.

Partners with Supply Chain resources to support problem solving & resolution of significant, extraordinary technical issues in our mills that risk to cause significant business disruption.

Provides R&D leadership for the implementation and successful start-up of any new assets, processes and materials, partnering closely with Engineering, Supply Chain & R&D Product development team.

Develops partnerships with vendors to become preferred Innovation partner of all key suppliers and work with internal partners to shape & influence our Material and Asset strategy.
Organisational Leadership:

Acts as subject matter expert for their “technology area”, and develops technical knowledge talent across the organisation and especially develop technical talent within the R&D and mill teams.

Owns the connection with other Subject matter experts across the globe to share/exchange developments and best practices, and ultimately leverage and contribute to the power of One KC.

Essential Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a science, engineering or related discipline.
-
Minimum of 10+ years of experience of Process, Product Development or Engineering experience and ideally prior experience in a variety of R&D and Mill/Manufacturing assignments.

Demonstrated evidence of process or material development experience within an R&D or Operations environment. With demonstrated ability to lead new technology/material development programs.
-
Exceptional Technical Curiosity & Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop and validate ideas leading to new or improved products, processes, materials and systems.
-
Ability to build collaborative relationships amongst numerous partners & stake-holders, both within technical & commercial community to drive balanced business decisions.
-
Experience in the process requirements, design of experiments, data analysis and operation of Tissue Manufacturing and Converting equipment with the ability to translate knowledge in support of process and product requirements.

Experience working closely with the brand and market research team members translating consumer insights into product opportunities.

Desire and awareness to seek and understand competitive technologies and innovation.

Proven ability to collaborate across functions/departments to drive balanced business decisions, including preferably experience in working in global/multi-regional teams.

Experience working with external research partners & equipment vendors.

Strong passion for sharing knowledge/expertise in support of building capability.
