Restaurant & Bar Manager Instructor

Permanent contract / Glion, Switzerland

Instructor pedagogical responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance with the interview process for the new Instructors
  • Monitor assessments, retakes and resist and verification of assessments
  • Provide feedback to Line Managers and Dean about curriculum matters and follow up on suggestions and concerns
  • Review textbooks and teaching material requests from instructors
  • Ensure the correctness of course description and their presence on Moodle
  • Develop & define Restaurant course description including learning outcomes
  • Leads Moodle update Restaurant courses
  • Monitor & control Practical Arts Restaurant Workshops Pedagogical Alignment
  • Develop new Restaurant workshops in line with Industry trends
  • Be responsible for the delivery of the Culinary Curriculum
  • Host different Restaurant practical workshops
  • Efficiently supervise the students and monitor their performance
  • Utilizes a variety of teaching techniques, methods and materials which assist students in attaining the performance objectives of the course
  • Develop and share best practices in order to maintain the high standards of the lessons
  • Participate and update on further education trainings and workshops

Operational responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the quality of service meet GIHE standards
  • Control billing and inventories
  • Coordinate GIHE internal events
  • Collaborate and control restaurant cost of goods sold
  • Control the cleanness of the restaurant
  • Develop and promote restaurant offers
  • Analyze and provide feed-back regarding outlets development
  • Mentor and supervise trainees work and their performance
  • Define GIHE restaurant SOP
  • Coordinate GIHE Graduations Ceremonies for F&B

Profile and experiences:

  • License, Bachelor, Master, Maîtrise fédérale or equivalent
  • Teaching or knowledge transfer experience required
  • 10 years’ professional experience of which 3 years in a managerial position in reputable institutions
  • Outstanding peer recognition
  • Experience of operating successfully in an international and culturally diverse working environment
  • Fluent in English and in French (verbal and written)
  • We are looking for a flexible, passionate, result and customer oriented person with a deep understanding of Food and Beverage operations and a high level of pedagogy, with excellent communication skills
