Technical Program Manager III

The Technical Program Manager III role sits on the Incentives Platform team in the Expedia Product & Technology division of Expedia Group. This team enables experience and marketing teams to effortlessly deliver the right incentive to the right traveler at the right time, based on audience identification and user actions, leveraging data from upstream sources. The Incentives Platform facilitates the selection, promotion, and rewarding of key actions throughout the traveler journey, while ensuring platform scalability and stability, business health, and compliance. The Technical Program Manager role combines technical expertise with program management skills to ensure that solutions/controls are delivered on time, within scope, and to the desired quality standards. You will engage with stakeholders to turn high-level project objectives into a comprehensive set of requirements, and keep them informed about progress, risks and issues. You will apply analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve issues and can navigate complex problems and make informed decisions.
In this role, you will

Build the basic structure of a program that may include prioritization alignment, team engagement, team governance, identifying partners, etc.

Manage cross-functional dependencies, risks, and changes by optimizing scope, schedule, and resources accordingly while also supporting team health.

Write detailed technical specifications in the form of agile epics and stories that engineers consume.

Think holistically to find opportunities around policies/processes to increase efficiency across organizational boundaries.

Clearly communicate program vision and status using appropriate media to maintain alignment.
Experience and Qualifications
-
You have prior experience in Program Management of software applications (SOX-compliant backend applications a plus).

You have excellent verbal, written and communication skills focused on targeted and timely communication with the right level of technical details.

You are an accomplished practitioner of Agile methodologies, beyond simply running ceremonies, and understand how to use and be Agile to best support the team.

You have strong program planning skills with the ability to structure large initiatives, seeing the “big picture” while also diving into details.

You are adept at using data to facilitate decisions on trade-offs and prioritization.

You have a good understanding of Software Development tools and technologies (Cloud Software design and technologies a plus).
The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $137,500.00 to $192,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $220,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
