For our client, an international pharma company in canton Lucerne, we are looking for an EHS Specialist.
The EHS Specialist will support the EHS group during the maternity leave of one
employee. The role involves managing specific environmental, health and safety programs and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and the company internal rules.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
1. Development and Implementation:
- Develop, implement and/or update local EHS policies and procedures aligned with Swiss Regulations and company EHS Standards.
- Provide technical support and coordination in defining and implementing site EHS systems.
- Perform GAP analysis comparing current situations with Swiss regulations and company EHS policies and deploy action plans accordingly.
- Ensure ongoing evaluation of changes in Safety and Environment Regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure 100% compliance with all current and future safety requirements.
- Maintain environmental records, supporting data, and reports for required government, industry, management, and site committees.
- Ensure that site systems are in place to maintain 100% site compliance with all Safety and Environmental Regulations and Programs.
- Perform occupational risk assessments.
- Assess risks linked to the use of machines/installations, processes/workspaces, ergonomics, and personal protective equipment.
- Participate in accident/incident and near-miss investigations.
- Maintain and update emergency response plans and procedures.
- Specify and organize safety & environmental training through third parties, webbased material, and/or self-development and delivery for all relevant stakeholders.
- Organize and participate in safety & environment promotional and awareness campaigns.
- Train employees on general and/or specific rules of safety, environmental protection, and health protection according to company training program.
- Support monthly internal safety inspections/safety walkthroughs.
- Manage CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions) and safety actions.
- Ensure self-assessments, safety reviews, and safety inspections are diligently carried out and corrective/preventive actions are taken to minimize long-term risks.
- Provide technical support for new projects and modifications to ensure proper EHS design review.
- Supervise and coordinate external companies on construction work.
Must Haves:
- Degree in an environmental or safety-related technical discipline.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Documented knowledge of Swiss and EU EHS regulations and regulatory framework.
- Proven ability to develop sustainable cooperative professional relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize, focus on, and obtain business results.
- Demonstrated analytical and logical problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility to perform multiple, complex tasks simultaneously to efficiently support the business.
- Fluent in German with good communication skills in English and report writing.
Nice to have:
- Certification as Swiss AS&GS (Arbeitssicherheit & Gesundheitsschutz) or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a chemical/pharmaceutical company.
- Vision and sound judgment; ability to develop strategy and execute tactically.
- Skills applying regulatory frameworks such as EKAS, OSHA, ISO, GMP.
