The Position

At Medical Compliance Governance, we act on behalf of the Chief Medical Officer to provide the necessary regulatory governance over our medicines and new healthcare solutions in close connection with senior stakeholders from Roche Pharma and Diagnostics. Through our operations, we enable fast, informed decision-making, advisory, and risk identification for key medical compliance topics at the enterprise level.

The Opportunity

This is a short-term internship opportunity in Medical Compliance Governance. You will help shape the work package around determining how Governance positions are effectively communicated and their impact verified.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Support in further integration of scenario planning within Medical Compliance Risk Management and reshape Risk Reporting and Work Instructions with learnings from early 2025

  • Further develop Risk Oversight, including long term scenarios

  • Leverage AI to automate and augment Risk Management Processes where feasible.

  • Support the Medical Compliance Governance Chapter (MCGC) team in driving work packages related to medical compliance challenges in the Roche organization.

  • Liaise with internal Roche teams to understand their requests and propose approaches to address them in discussion with the MCGC team, furthermore, use project management methodologies to support the MCGC Chapter members in conducting work packages.

  • Support the MCGC team in evolving our communication strategy

Your engaging leadership style will contribute to advancing shared ownership and empowerment in your activities with the MCGC team to deliver outstanding results.

Who you Are:

  • Currently doing an MBA (or finished it within 12 months before the start of the internship and ideally have previous experience working in Consulting (minimum 2-3 years)

  • Have a general basic understanding of business governance (understanding medical compliance governance and/or Quality and/or Safety in Pharma or Diagnostics is a plus)

  • Draw learnings from previous experience in driving complex projects to frame problem statements and conceptual approaches to problems.

  • You have a proactive mindset to solve organizational problem and you consider the department strategy when identifying the best approach/solution to use

  • Plan, prioritize and adapt to changing project needs; moreover, adopt approaches that will allow consistency, continuity, and expandability of initiatives

  • Concise, timely, and fluent communication with Stakeholders (fluent English)

  • Comfortable working with ambiguous and complex data and able to synthesize it into clear and concise points of view to influence decision-making and action-taking

The internship will take place in Basel.

The preferred start date of the internship is between June and August 2025, and the entire duration of the internship is two-three (2-3) months . Please clearly indicate your preferred starting date and duration of the internship on your motivation letter.

This internship is not suitable for a Master's thesis.

Due to regulations, non-EU/non-EFTA citizens without either a B permit with work permit or a C permit need to provide a certificate of enrollment, as well as a certificate from the university stating that an internship is mandatory and stating the length.
