Processus de recrutement trop long, à améliorer
What works well?
Je n'en sais rien, il semble tout simplement évident que le processus de recrutement doit être revu et amélioré.
What could be improved?

Flexible working conditions
What works well?
7 weeks vacations, meal plans, parking and sports facilities.
What could be improved?
The work ambience looks quite nice but people are stressed out and lots of internal fights between the educational sectors. New managerial team can't hold talents, seems they make decisions and see what happens.

Dehumanized process and disrespect for candidates.
What works well?
The school is well marketed. Worldwide reputation. The tongue-in-cheek approach works very well, as evidenced by the fact that the company is BCORP and "best place to work", whereas for some categories it's hell.
What could be improved?
EHL, aware of its superiority, treats people like cattle. No respect, total opacity of the process, formatted response arriving 2 months after the announcement, and strange selection criteria. I even got more than I bargained for, with unquestionable achievements. No call, no interview, nothing. This school sees its staff as a mere adjustment variable.

A beautiful wrapping for a very different reality
What works well?
The company's external image remains impressive, and the school's reputation gives it a prestige that attracts applicants and employees alike. Colleagues are, for the most part, committed and competent people, who do their best despite often difficult working conditions.
What could be improved?
Internally, there's a noticeable gap between official communication and day-to-day reality. Although the company uses slogans about well-being, empathy and transparency, managerial practices are often unsatisfactory, lacking in humanity and employee recognition. Human Resources do not seem to be at the service of employees, which creates a climate of mistrust. In the event of a problem, it is difficult to turn to them, as this could exacerbate the situation, with the person reporting the problem becoming the problem in their eyes. Promotions sometimes seem to be determined more by personal relationships than by skills or merit. This is regrettable. In conclusion, if appearance appeals to you, be aware that reality can be disappointing. The company's stated values are difficult to put into practice, and experience within the company doesn't match the attention you'd expect from an employer of this stature.

A little disappointed
What works well?
The benefits look great, but watch out for the 'free' meals that will be deducted in part from your 13th salary, which is never mentioned.
What could be improved?
I think we need more communication and clear recruitment processes. I would have liked to know how long it would take. How long before I'd hear back. And how to improve my application. I missed the communication!

My Recruitment Experience
What works well?
- Nice infrastructures - Young environment - Learning environment - Nice people
What could be improved?
Lack of customer centricity I have recently applied to a role at EHL Business School, a company I admire. Being myself an Hospitality Management graduate and having worked customer centric roles in the hospitality and higher education industries, I was extremely excited when I was invited for an interview. EHL Business School is the nr. 1 hospitality management school in the world, is an exemplary employer and I have many ex-colleagues and friends that work there. With that being said, of course I wished to work for such organization. In hindsight UNFORTUNATELY, I'm no longer that sure. I was invited for a 3 round interviews, which 2 of them, I came from Zurich, where I live. The different exchanges and discussions were great, the case was great. All seemed to point out for a great outcome. The final round was on June 14. Presented my case solution, met with several potential future stakeholders, ex-collegues and friends from my previous roles. I felt super confident and grateful for the opportunity and honestly thought, this is the place I want to be and the community I want to join. After 4 hours of assessment, I was thanked and informed I would hear back in the coming days. Today is August 10, 2023 and I'm still waiting for a call back. I have called 3 times in the meantime, have left 3 messages, was informed the stakeholders involved in the decision process were notified, including having one member that mentioned when the call was transferred "Antonio I'm currently in a meeting, can I call you back?" Yes, thank you. I'm still waiting. It is an unfortunate experience. It is no longer about the outcome, or feedback. It is about living up to the values and protecting it. EHL Business School values stand for respect, excellence, customer centricity, amongst others. Yet, in my personal experience, I felt/feel EHL Business School did fail me showcasing its values.

Good work-life balance
What works well?
On-site restaurants and sales outlets On-site fitness center -Work from home possible -7 weeks vacation -Continuing training available Possibility of part-time work
What could be improved?
-You need to negotiate your contract well when you join, because after that there's virtually no pay rise, even if you surpass yourself in your objectives. -Lack of processes in place, which may be good for agility, but then nobody is in charge or wants to take responsibility. -Too much disparity in work atmosphere from one department to another, leading to satisfied employees and totally unhappy ones. Top management should take a closer look at this to bring cohesiveness to the whole organization.

Mobbed, bored, frustrated and exhausted
What works well?
Always paid on time and the infrastructure is comfortable. Parking is easy. In some cases, no one cares if you're there (stay at the cottage or work somewhere else!).
What could be improved?
This can be frustrating if you're not used to the environment (private academia). You can become invisible (unless there's a complaint). Management is distant, inaccessible and unsympathetic - except with certain people with whom you need to be on good terms. You have to accept many elaborate plans to accomplish simple tasks and correct problems that never existed. It's hard to keep track of where you are, because the feedback you receive is often out of context or meaningless. It's absolutely impossible to assert one's expertise because, despite intense projects, important decisions are finalized as a result of debates between anyone who wants to add anything.

Bad HR team
What works well?
The atmosphere is good among colleagues, but distrustful of certain managers, HR and the school management. The climate is not very good, and several examples among employees have shown that it's better to keep quiet. The 7-week vacation is a good point, except that you can't take it whenever you want - at least 5 weeks are compulsory. Meals are marketed as free, but they're not. It's always a good idea to say you work there, and it makes for a lot of networking. A lot of people now know that the atmosphere is bad over there and I get a lot of questions about it, so I often have to embellish.
What could be improved?
I'd found the recruitment process unreliable; I'd been asked to speak English to check my skills, which surprised me when I discovered that my N+1 spoke very poor English. The recruitment process took a long time, I thought I'd been forgotten, and HR were never contactable. Once I needed an intermediate certificate, which took 4 months! Students complain a lot and you often hear "for the price we pay". It's very hard to deal with the fact that they're disillusioned, especially in the first year when they literally have to run the school and produce meals for the staff (who are supposed to be free) and the other students, only to have to pay full price for everything they consume even though they produced it. Students have to take on this role for 6 months and then leave for a 6-month internship in the hotel business, while the vast majority of them have no interest in the hotel business and won't work in it afterwards (a very small percentage of students will end up in the hotel business), the school itself has changed its name and seems to have renounced the hotel business but its system only works with students as free labor who pay to do this! I find it very hard to keep up the marketing rhetoric I'm asked to have when I'm in empathy and compassion with them every day. I think you have to have an executive-type job to enjoy working there.
