What works well?
My experience with Alohi’s process was disappointing and raised concerns about the company’s transparency and professionalism. Here are a few key issues I encountered: Unclear Hiring Process - After completing interview stages, I was asked to submit a detailed one-year Marketing and Communications Plan with a budget breakdown. The amount of work required seemed excessive for an interview process, raising concerns about whether this was a genuine evaluation or a way to gather free strategic insights. Lack of Communication and Feedback - After submitting the requested project, I received a generic rejection email. Despite reaching out for constructive feedback, I received no response. This lack of communication reflects poorly on the company’s professionalism and respect for candidates’ efforts. Potentially Misleading Job Offer - Given the process, I was left with doubts about whether the position actually existed or if the company was simply collecting ideas from multiple candidates. A well-structured company should provide clearer expectations and timely feedback. Overall, my experience suggests that Alohi could improve its hiring transparency, candidate communication, and respect for applicants' time and effort. I would advise future candidates to be cautious and assess whether the process feels legitimate before investing significant effort.
What could be improved?
Areas for Improvement at Alohi I had the opportunity to participate in Alohi’s recruitment process, and I would like to share some suggestions for improving the candidate experience: Greater Transparency in the Selection Process It would be beneficial for the company to communicate the evaluation and selection criteria more clearly. Providing structured feedback, especially after practical assessments, would help candidates better understand areas for improvement. Respect for Candidates' Time and Effort Requesting a detailed and comprehensive marketing plan as part of the selection process can give the impression that ideas and strategies are being collected without a genuine commitment to hiring. A clearer briefing on the purpose of the assignment and more concrete feedback after submission would create a fairer and more balanced process. Post-Process Communication The lack of response to follow-up inquiries leaves candidates without closure regarding their application. Even a brief explanation of the reasons for not moving forward would significantly improve the experience. I hope these suggestions contribute to a more transparent and positive hiring process for future candidates.

I've had a great experience working at Alohi. What I liked the most was the culture, the office environment, and how everyone pursued the same goal.

What works well?
Many colleagues have become good friends even though there is a high turnover in the company. Most of the team are genuinely friendly and helpful.
What could be improved?
There is so much micromanagement, and favoritism. The company's culture encourages presenteeism and adherence to 'working hard' values, which made it difficult to achieve a healthy work-life balance. Additionally, expectations are not communicated clearly, which made it challenging to understand priorities. There was also a lack of transparency which made it difficult to feel confident in any decision-making. Despite the company's rhetoric of being a "family," the reality was far from it. The high turnover created an atmosphere of uncertainty. While every company has its own unique culture and management style, I feel that these areas could be improved to create a more positive and inclusive work environment. Have a more human approach towards both current and past employees. Don't expect employees to work as if the company were their own, because it is not.
