1001Why work at Nestlé?
Here at Nestlé, we are driven by a simple aim. As the world’s leading Nutrition, Health and Wellness Company, we are committed to enhancing people’s lives, everywhere, every day. This means creating long-term sustainable value for consumers, communities and colleagues alike – through the brands, support and careers we offer.
The opportunity
We have created a fulfilling working environment that puts the emphasis on individual responsibility, opportunity and autonomy. We’ll encourage your growth through continuous development, on-the-job training, mentoring programmes, and access to our International Training Centre in Switzerland. Equally, you’ll be able to tap into the deep-rooted expertise in our business by exposure to like-minded people. There is the potential to gain experience overseas – we’ve over 2,000 expatriates in some 96 countries – but equally we never overlook local talent. In fact, almost 60% of our senior managers are born and bred locally.
Meanwhile, we’ll support your personal growth with a people-focused culture, parental leave practices and a flexible and diverse working environment. We encourage our people to view their career as a journey; to think long-term about how they broaden their exposure or deepen their skills. Adopt this mindset and you’ll find we are equally forward-thinking, recognising that your career priorities will change and flex over time.
The challenge
As supportive as we are, it’s important not to under-estimate the challenge. Excelling here means sharing our passion for enhancing lives, living up to our exemplary standards of integrity, honesty and fair dealing, and taking ownership of your future. Do this and you’ll soon discover that our 2,000 leading brands, our emphasis on growth and our scope will make this a unique career environment for experienced, driven professionals from every discipline.

This evaluation concerns Nespresso SA Lausanne: Always a salary level at the entrance higher than the Lake Geneva average, beautiful chairs and computers.
This evaluation concerns Nespresso SA Lausanne: No career management of human resources, and no transparency on salaries, unlike Nestlé (obtain good information and negotiate its salary upon hiring). No visible vision or investment of an aging management to develop the company towards a more sustainable and contemporary model. Too many internal processes. The general atmosphere of the teams is gloomy due to competitive pressure but also to the many waves of recent departures (except for top management, of course) to satisfy the need for results requested by shareholders. Anyway, it was better 10 years ago.

The offices, logistics, IT equipment and working conditions are of high quality. The staff restaurant is good and the price is good. The location of the offices is good.
Decision-making and the way employees are managed is taken on a political basis, depending on the services to be rendered to a particular manager. The evolution of positions and applications are managed in this way. Positions are filled in advance and the candidate is chosen before the advertisement appears. Reductions and relocations of posts abroad are made every six months with precise objectives to be achieved. Managers' bonuses are linked to these relocations of positions abroad. Intelligent, competent and honest employees have been leaving the company for several years. The management style is unhealthy (politics everywhere). Little learning of new skills because the company is lagging far behind in digital, CRM, data, e-commerce, business analytics. Very intense working hours, working late in the evening, uncompensated overtime.

Good employer 10 years ago. Good work-life balance.
I believe things have changed a lot since i worked there. Positions are cut in Switzerland to be sent elsewhere and employees no longer enjoy many of the benefits they used to have.
