When recruiting candidates for a position, it seems to me that the least you can do is give them some feedback, whether positive or negative. It's part of the game, part of the process, and above all part of our respect for the time candidates have spent applying. We're capable of understanding that our profile isn't quite right or that the position has already been filled.
We come to believe that the people in charge of HR at this institution are not qualified, not serious or unaware of the standards governing the recruitment process and all the obligations that go with it. The whole process is computerized and easy to follow, so there's really no excuse. This is the last time I'm applying to this institution, as I have no desire to work there, despite the interesting themes.
